Brookhaven Eye Surgery was started by Dr. McGuinness as an ophthalmology practice dedicated to providing the latest advances in eye care, to both young and old.

Dr. McGuinness has been in practice for over fifteen years and has performed thousands of surgical procedures to treat:

We now offer CustomVue correction with our Visx Star S4 excimer laser. Using WaveScan technology, our surgeons are able to measure and correct unique imperfections in each individual's vision. Many of these imperfections were previously unable to be measured by standard techniques used for glasses and contact lenses. WaveScan is able to measure the refractive error of the eye with much greater precision and detail than a phoropter. It provides measurements to within hundredths of a diopter. Like a fingerprint, the WavePrint map is completely unique to every individual.

We offer free consultations with our surgeon to give the patient the opportunity to find out more about the procedure, determine if they are a candidate, and meet Dr. McGuinness.  The consultation takes about 45 minutes to one hour and consists of a routine eye exam, a short video of an actual surgery, and a dilated exam.
